Fiction that seeks meaning without flinching.

Beyond the fiction

I'm Joseph W.D. Morton, a journalist, speculative fiction author and essayist. I spend most of my days drinking too much coffee and writing about what happens at the intersections of technology, flesh and human experience.

That takes me into some strange territory: artificial intelligence and mining, monsters and machines, politics and culture, and the increasingly blurry line between the human and everything we're building around ourselves.

I try to write without flinching. I won't always get everything right, but I'll tell you what I actually think—and hopefully make the trip worth taking.

You can find my journalism at Mugglehead, my weekly essays at Ink and Ambition.
